One of the eight major venues on the Crooked Road-Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, the original Country Cabin was built in 1937-38 with the encouragement of local musician Kate OíNeil Peters Sturgill, a ballad singer and songwriter. Country Cabin II is the site of the annual Dock Boggs Festival. This festival honors the legacy of the great banjo player and singer Dock Boggs with traditional Appalachian music all day long. Bring a lawn chair.

Directions: From I-81 take Exit 17 for Hwy. 58 Alt and follow this for 50 miles to Norton. Continue through Norton on Park Ave. for three miles, and it turns into Kent Junction Rd. The Appalachian Traditions Village is on the right.
